We saw Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentlemen here. Unreal. Service was great, drink prices are good. Vibes are off the charts. They have a great little outdoor patio at the back if you need a break. Even with such a killer show, the sound was perfect too - you could feel everything in your bones without having your ears bleed. They know what they’re doing.

If you’re looking for velvet ropes and craft cocktails with smoke bubbles, this isn’t your place. But if you care about real music, this spot is everything. No frills, no distractions. Just serious jazz. This is the kind of bar that feels built by musicians, for musicians. The sound is right, the room is intimate, and the focus is exactly where it should be: on the players. You know it’s special when you look around and see local New Orleans musicians in the crowd, just listening. That tells you everything. It’s not about hype — it’s about respect for the music.

This place is legit. Small, intimate, authentic setting. And the music was absolute fire. Happy Organ Hour indeed! WOW! One of the few places I went on my trip to New Orleans that I would visit again.

Classic, old-school music hall. If you're a live music lover the shows here are always top notch. This isn't cover band territory, and some of the best musicians/bands play here regularly. Famous venue, featured in movies and TV shows. Bartenders here are awesome, and there's a nice back patio of you need to chill out for a bit.

"there was no train station, there was no downtown" What is New Orleans without the Maple Leaf ? Thanks to Hank S., we ain't never gotta find out.... Allow me to make a list of musicians that I saw for the first time at the Leaf on Oak.... 1. Johnny Vidacovich - drummer extroidinaire 2. Tab Benoit - guitar player extroidinaire 3. Alex McMurray - guitar player extroidinaire 4. Tom Fitzpatrick - sax extroidinaire 5. John Gros - piano extroidinaire
